Step 1 – Discovery Consultation
After reaching out, we will schedule your discovery consultation, which is absolutely 100% free of charge. During this consultation, we are looking to get to know you, your goals, preferences and vision for your event, travel or destination experience. This session is 100% about getting to know you, so we can get on the same page with where you are at. Feel free to brain dump all of your ideas, inspiration, questions, concerns and comments on us—we’re here for it! This consultation really helps us set the stage for our work together.
Step 2 – It’s Time to Plan!
After our initial consultation where we were able to set the tone of your goals, ideas and vision, it is now time to start event planning! The beginning stages of working with Jordan Signature as your destination designer and event planner Columbia SC, will hit the ground running. These beginning stages consist of organizing the planning process, developing your budget, allocating funds and resources. We will walk you through every step of each phase of the planning process, answering all of your questions, addressing your concerns and implementing any ideas you may have along the way.
We have developed a strategic, intentional and thorough process of event planning, booking, and executing events and travel experiences to ensure every little detail is accounted for and your experience is planned to the T—never missing a detail.
This phase is the longest of the process, as it is the time for planning, organizing logistics, solidifying vendors, venues, and the design concept.
Step 3 – Finalizing Details & Logistics
This is where the process starts to become real! We are finally approaching THE day we have been planning for! It is now time to finalize a detailed timeline and itinerary, confirm and communicate all expectations, manage guest lists, venue and vendor logistics, market and promote your event and ensure the last minute design details and decor are arranged.
Step 4 – Execute
The day is finally here! Your event, travel or destination experience has arrived! It is now time for us to execute the plan we have prepared together. Our event planner Columbia SC will be here for you to help you with on-site coordination, overseeing the setup, vendor arrival, managing any issues and ensuring everything is running smoothly and going according to plan…at least all that is within our control. Our soul focus is on your event and your day! Throughout the event we will be here as your support and manage the timeline as it may occur. After the event is completed, we are here for post-event cleanup!

Decide Your Budget
Sit down with your significant other, business partners, or others that are contributing to this event. Some key conversations would need to revolve around what are the most important things for each contributor in the event. You can order them from most important to least important. Things that should be in the list would include: photography, videography, catering, venue, decorations, invitations, floral, beverages, music/entertainment, and if it’s a wedding event—hair and makeup and cake. Will you be using vendors in Columbia,SC to meet these needs or will it be in a different destination?
Next, Begin Thinking About What You Want Your Event to Feel Like
Do you want it to be a modern event or traditional? Who would your guests include? Children or exclusively adults. Is this a formal occasion or a more relaxed setting? Do you want a small gathering or a larger group of people attending?

This also helps you plan about how many people you need to plan and budget for.
Now We Need to Decide on When You Would Like Your Event to Take Place
What time of year do you want this to occur? What season and, if this is a wedding event- have you considered how this will affect your attire and wedding dress choice. After you have chosen the season you’d like this to occur, choose a 7 week period within that season. Look through a calendar together with your family and make sure there are no other overlapping occasions that would impede the day you are having your event. Think about sports events, family reunions, holidays…etc. and block out those dates so there are no conflicts. Do certain dates of meaning for you. Think about these things and then make a decision.
Where Will Your Event Take Place?
Do you want it to occur in Columbia, SC or would you like to have a destination event? We offer both and are more than happy to help guide you with either choice.
